Grading PolicyGradebook grades are updated once a week, and are view-able online in real-time. Assignments are graded according to proximity of due date and date of submission. Current and recent assignments are graded prior to late assignments. Late work is always accepted, however there is no guarantee for late assignments to be graded prior to grade finalization according to time constraints.
Summative grades: Combined to be worth 60% of total grade. These include district unit tests, self-assessment of progress, etc... Formative grades: Combined to be worth 40% of total grade. These include class assignments, some gatoraides, cornell notes, etc... Diagnostic grades: Do not affect class grade. These include signed parent letters, pre-tests, and any other assignments used for tracking student information or learning progress. X: If an "X" appears in place of a grade, this means the student is excused from this assignment. This assignment will have no effect on the overall grade. M: If an "M" appears in place of a grade, this means the assignment is missing, and calculates as a "0" toward the overall grade. It needs to be completed as soon as possible. I: If an "I" appears in place of a grade, this means the assignment was partially completed at the time of grading, but not completed enough to receive a grade. It calculates as a "0" toward the overall grade, and needs to be completed as soon as possible. BLANK: If a grade is blank, that means the assignment has been entered on Pinnacle, and some students in the class may have received a grade, but this student has not had their assignment graded yet. Blank grades do not affect the overall grade, and will often be updated within the week. If you ever have a question about a grade- please e-mail me! [email protected] |
